Fitness for Moms: How to Fit Exercise Into a Busy Moms’ Schedule

Jen Loganbill, Jen's Get Fit Group

The average person in the United States walks around 3,800 steps every day. This is far less than the recommended 10,000 steps per day. This shows that the average American is not in good shape.

Some people don’t have time to get in shape. Fitness for moms may seem like an impossible task when you’re always rushing. But you may be surprised to learn that there are ways you can fit fitness into your schedule.

But where should you start? Keep reading and learn more about creating a busy mom workout schedule.

Create a Fitness Plan

There are many workout tips for busy moms, but the most important is to create a plan. Creating a plan will help you determine where you should go and what you should do. It also allows you to analyze what kind of free time you have.

You may think that you have no time to get fit. But you likely have more time than you realize. You might also have a messy schedule.

Creating a fitness plan can help you reorganize your daily duties. This can help you free up time so you have more time for yourself. Don’t give up on getting fit so easily either.

Getting fit is not only about looking good. It is also about keeping your body healthy. You will feel better overall when you prioritize your health.

You might have more energy to tackle things throughout the day too. But what does a busy mom fitness plan look like? It might look like walking or jogging to your local grocery store instead of walking.

Or it might look like cancelling an appointment to make more time for yourself.

The Details

You don’t need a lot of time to get fit. Many people think that they have to spend hours in a gym to make progress.

But this is not true. You can get fit in the comfort of your home. You only need to exercise between 30 minutes and an hour every day too. Exercising for 10 or 20 minutes is a good start as well.

The goal is to create a plan that you can stick with. You don’t want to create a complex plan to find that you can’t do it. Start simple and build your way up from there.

This will keep you motivated and more likely to stick to it.

Book a Session with a Personal Trainer

A personal trainer can help you more than you’d expect. Some people aren’t able to motivate themselves enough to stick to a fitness plan. This can lead to you ditching your fitness plan and forgetting all about it.

But a personal trainer can keep this from happening. You don’t have to go to a gym to seek out a personal trainer either. There are trainers online that you can use.

This allows you to get fit in the comfort of your home. This also saves you time since you won’t have to drive to the gym. An online trainer is as effective as a trainer at a gym.

Some online trainers offer life training. Others may record their sessions so you can watch them at your convenience. This is important if you aren’t sure you can attend a fitness class at a particular time.

This gives you more freedom to participate while still staying on track. Personal trainers are great for keeping you motivated.

What You Need to Know

Some people will give up if they can’t motivate themselves.

A personal trainer is there to keep that from happening. These trainers can give you support and encouragement. This will help you build your strength and reach your fitness goals.

You will also get into a pattern once you start using a personal trainer. You will get into the habit of working with your trainer to work out at certain intervals. You might start to look forward to your workouts too.

You will get more motivated as you start seeing more results. The results will start slow but they will become more prominent as you stick to the program. You’ll reach your fitness goals before you know it.

Maximize Your Time

You might think that you have no time to get fit. You might be swamped with taking care of your kids, cleaning the house, going to work, and so on. But there is always time you can use to get fit.

A simple suggestion is to wake up earlier. Waking up 30 minutes earlier gives you a whole half hour to get fit. You can also use shorter periods to work out.

Consider your lunch break. You can eat lunch but do a few simple workouts at the same time. This ensures that you don’t skip your fitness plan.

Working out at the end of the day can be beneficial too. It might be tempting to relax at the end of the day, but you shouldn’t skimp on your exercise routine. Exercising for 20 to 30 minutes is a great way to use up the last of your energy for the day.

Falling asleep afterward should be easy too.
