Debunking Strength Training Myths

Debunking Strength Training Myths
Today I’m debunking 10 strength training myths that I hear time and time again in JGFG. As you know, I am 100% in favor of safely lifting weights in all seasons of life, but depending on who you talk to you might get other (not so encouraging) opinions. I believe strength training is not just about building muscle. It’s a holistic approach to health that benefits your mind, body, soul, and everything in between!

This week, I challenge you to reconsider some of the things you’ve been told about strength training. Do your own research or message me to chat about what is best for your specific fitness journey!

This episode is for you if:
  • You want to hear my take on popular strength training myths
  • You’d like to start working out, but you’re worried about becoming bulky
  • You want to learn how strength training is a holistic approach to your health
You are strong. You are powerful. You are worthy.

Take Over 24

Take Over 24
It’s time to TAKE OVER 2024! Today’s episode is an update on life and what is happening so far in 2024. Last time you heard from me, I gave you a reflection of my top lessons learned in 2023. This week, I challenge you to make it a goal in 2024 to be just 1% better than yesterday. Do not compare yourself to others. Do not make unrealistic goals for yourself. Just aim to be 1% better than you were yesterday. Be so busy watering your own grass, that you don’t even have time to check if the other side is greener!

This episode is for you if:
  • You’re interested in hearing about my experience with the cold plunge
  • You’d like encouragement during a new season of life and navigating a new schedule
  • You’re interested in following macros and how it can make you feel

Unraveling the Concept of Intuitive Eating

Unraveling the Concept of Intuitive Eating
In today’s episode, I explain intuitive eating, what it is, how to start, and why it is important. I also share a few tricks and tips I’ve learned along my own journey of learning how to eat intuitively.

This week, I challenge you to start getting equally excited about every aspect of your meal as you do your treats. Stop rewarding yourself with food. You are in charge of what you eat. Bless your body and it will return the favor.

Supporting Your Adrenals

Supporting Your Adrenals
*Disclaimer* This is NOT medical advice!

I am the type of person who loves to find the root cause of a problem, especially when it comes to my health. So lately, I have been unlearning things I learned in nursing school and learning more about holistic health. It has been eye-opening and I can’t wait for you to hear just a little of what I’ve learned about adrenals in today’s episode!

In today’s episode, I explain what your adrenals are and what they do for you, how to support them, and how they can be disrupted. If you feel like you’re experiencing adrenal fatigue, this episode is for you!

This week, I challenge you to close your eyes and practice deep breathing. Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth. Your mood will most likely stabilize and you might find that you have a bit more energy.

This episode is for you if:
  • You want to learn more about adrenals and how to support them
  • You are experiencing symptoms of adrenal fatigue
  • You are ready to release any grief, trauma, or pain you are holding on to
You are strong. You are powerful. You are worthy.

This week, we challenge you to be so busy watering your own grass in whatever season you’re in, that you don’t even have time to check to see if anyone else’s is greener.

Today, Rachel shares:
  • How she prioritizes working out with 4 kids
  • The mental shift she experienced moving into her newest season of life
  • How she’s overcome hard challenges since joining JGFG

Control the Controllable

Control the Controllable
In today’s episode, I am talking about something that I have really started to focus on in my life lately and thought someone listening might need to hear it, too. Focus on the things you can control, not the things you cannot. Control the controllable.

This week, I challenge you to incorporate moments of mindfulness and stillness into your day. Intentionally sit still and think about the small things that you are grateful to have in your life right now.

This episode is for you if:
  • You want to start focusing on the things you can control
  • You are looking for ideas on what you can control throughout your day
  • You need a reminder of things you canNOT control
You are strong. You are powerful. You are worthy.
